Renovation of a mixed-use development in Westfield, New Jersey. Completed plans call for the renovation of a educational facility.
The Westfield Board of Education will receive bids for Toilet Room and Lobby Renovations at Roosevelt Intermediate School, Edison Intermediate School and Westfield High School, together with all work incidental hereto, in accordance with the requirements of the drawings and specifications prepared by Fraytak Veisz Hopkins Duthie, P.C. (FVHD) Architects-Planners, FVHD Project No. 5074A, B, C. Contract No. 1 - General Construction Work (C008 or C009) Contract No.2 - Plumbing & Drainage Work (CO30) Contract No.3 - Heating, Ventilating, Air Conditioning & Refrigeration Work (CO32) Contract No 4 - Electrical Work (C047) Contract No. 5 - Combined Overall Contract comprising Contract No. 1 through Contract No. 4 Bid Documents will be available from the Architect for a non-refundable fee of $100.00 for disk or upon deposit of $150.00 for each paper set, checks payable to Fraytak Veisz Hopkins Duthie, P.C. If contractor requests shipping, a direct shipping account number must be provided to the Architect and for paper sets a separate non-refundable handling fee of $25.00 per set payable in advance. Deposits will be refunded only if the bid documents are returned in whole in good condition, bound in proper order unmarked( and returned within ten (10) days after the opening of bids, by a Bidder submitting a bona fide bid. Bidders should only rely on original digital and paper versions of the bidding contract documents obtained directly from the Architect's office. All questions must be sent only via mail or facsimile at (609) 883-2694 with the job number referenced. Bids and must be accompanied by a Certified Check, Cashier's Check or Bid Bond drawn to the order of the Owner for not less than ten percent (10%) of the amount of the bid, but in no case in excess of $20,000.00; and must be delivered to the above place on or before the hour named. The Board of Education and the Architect assume no responsibility for bids mailed or misdirected in delivery. Pursuant to N.J.S.A. 18A:15A-25, each proposal shall be accompanied by a Proposition of Surety from a Surety Company stating it will provide each bidder with separate Performance and Payment Bonds, each in the amount of 100% of the contract sum. If the bid exceeds 520,000.00, bidder must be pre-qualified by the New Jersey Division of Property Management and Construction (DPMC), prior to the date that bids are received. Bidding shall be in conformance with the applicable requirements of N.J.S.A. 18A:18A-1 et seq. the "Public School Contracts Law." All bidders shall comply with The New Jersey Prevailing Wage Act N J.S.A. 34:11-56.25 et seq. (P 1963, c.150) and N.J.S.A. 10:5-31 (P-L. 1975, c.127), and N.J.A.0 17:27-1 et seq. and all duly adopted Affirmative Action Regulations. All Bidders must provide a Business Registration Certificate prior to award per N.J.S.A. 52:32-44. No bid may be withdrawn for a period of sixty (60) days after the date set for the opening thereof. The right is reserved to reject any or all bids or to waive informality in the bidding if it is in the interest of the School District to do so.
