An architect has been selected and as of April 3, 2019, this project is in design phase. Although a firm timeline for construction has not been determined, construction is not expected to begin before February 2020. *The closed solicitation has been included below for reference: POLB is seeking a Consultant to provide professional engineering design services for the preliminary and final design of the Pier G Metro Railyard Lighting Improvements. Consultant shall develop and prepare Plans, Specifications and Engineer's Estimates of Probable Construction Cost (PS&E) of the preferred alternative outlined in the Pier G Metro Lighting Assessment Report. Port of Long Beach (POLB) is proposing the Pier G Metro Railyard Lighting Improvements (Project) and to implement the preferred alternative (Alternative 3) recommended by the recent Pier G Metro Railyard Lighting Assessment Report prepared by POLB dated April 2018 (Attachment C). The Project will provide adequate lighting for a railyard area of 95 feet in width by 2,800 feet in length, housing six (6) storage / staging tracks and ten (10) railroad crossovers (two railroad track turnouts connecting adjacent tracks).
