Spartanburg School District Five is soliciting proposals for CM at Risk for two construction projects (elementary school expansion and new high school baseball facility). Project One is construction of an approximately 15,750 SF expansion/addition at Abner Creek Academy, 2050 Abner Creek Rd, Duncan, SC. The existing building is just over ten years old and serves students in grades preK through 4. The expansion project has an estimated budget of $4,250,000, including architect/engineering fees, site work, pre-constructions, construction costs, furniture, fixtures, equipment and utilities. The project includes two Kindergarten classrooms and one additional wing containing eight classrooms, a work room, offices, storage rooms, and restrooms. Construction is load bearing CMU and brick veneer with steel bar joists with a mechanical equipment platform above the classrooms. Approximate timeline for this project is May 2019-June 2020. The District anticipates a substantial completion date, at which time construction work and outfitting with technology, furniture and equipment must be complete and ready for occupancy of July 2020. Project Two is a two-phase project to construct a new baseball field and parking lot at James F. Byrnes High School, 150 East Main St, Duncan, SC. Estimated budget for this project is $5,124,000. Phase One will be the construction of a new baseball field to include all site work necessary to install the field including grading, grassing, irrigation, parking, lighting, and fencing, etc. The stadium will have aluminum bleachers to seat 500, CMU dugouts, and a CMU concessions, restroom, and press box building. Approximate timeline for this phase is April 2019- November 2019. Phase Two will be the demolition of existing Byrnes HS parking lot and construction of a new parking lot. Work to include all site work necessary for new 491 space parking lot including grading, paving, curb & gutter, lighting, and sidewalks. Approximate timeline for this phase is May 2020-July 31, 2020.
