Renovation of a mixed-use development in Seattle, Washington. Completed plans call for the renovation of a municipal facility.
Women and Minority Business Enterprise Commitment Plan Form, shall be submitted with the bid or within one (1) hour after the published bid submittal time of 2:00 p.m. THIS PROJECT IS ON BEHALF OF THE PORT OF SEATTLE AND THE NORTHWEST SEAPORT ALLIANCE. THIS IS A PROJECT LABOR AGREEMENT (PLA) PROJECT The Work includes the rehabilitation and strengthening of the existing marginal wharf at Terminal 5, including berth deepening and electrical upgrades. A portion of the existing wharf, selected supporting piling and the existing fender system shall be removed. The slope shall have timber pinch pile and steel toe wall stabilization measures installed. New supporting waterside concrete piling and landside steel pipe piling shall be driven. A new concrete marginal wharf face shall be installed including a unit fender system and crane rail. A new landside crane beam shall be installed parallel to the waterside. The berth shall be dredged to the indicated depth. A new electrical substation shall be installed, and power and data distributed behind the wharf to secondary electrical service substations. The project shall be phased such that the indicated northern portion is complete prior to work commencing on the southern portion. The Engineer's estimate range for this project is $125,000,000 - $250,000,000. Each bid must be accompanied by a cashier's check, money order, or surety bid bond, in an amount of not less than five percent (5%) of the total bid, made payable to Port of Seattle. Performance and Payment bonds will be required with the Contract. Time limit for substantial completion of the work is 1386 calendar days. The Port reserves the right to reject any and all bids, to waive any informality, to accept any alternate bids, and to make such award that it deems to be in its best interest and pursuant to the terms of the General Conditions. Contract time extends from Award of the contract through Contract Completion as defined in the General Conditions. Please bring official identification to be able to be escorted onto the Terminal. Work areas to be examined during the pre-bid examination of the work site may contain potential asbestos hazards in varying degree. Prospective bidders shall provide and wear protective clothing and respiratory protection which they alone determine to be sufficient to protect themselves from asbestos exposure. The prospective bidder further agrees to indemnify, and hold harmless, the Port and its agents from any and all claims of personal injury arising from its participation in the pre-bid examination. This Contract requires work to be performed within an area of the Seaport controlled for security reasons. That area is defined as the area within a Coast Guard Regulated facility subject to the provisions of the Maritime Transportation Security Act (MTSA) of 2002 and Title 33 CFR, Part 105, delineated by security fence, and all other restricted areas indicated on applicable drawings, or as posted on the Seaport premises ("restricted/secured area"), or otherwise defined under each Terminal Facility Security Plan. No Contractor personnel are allowed to work in these restricted areas without a valid TWIC.
