As of 06/10/2019 The project is still pending the award due to easement acquisition. As of 05/13/2019 The low bidder was SJ Louis Construction of Rockville MN. The bid amount was $14,234,000. There is no schedule as they are awaiting  some real estate acquisition. Award and Notice to proceed will be held up until they have all the ducks in a row. Project involves approximately 11,600 L.F. of 48-inch diameter and 260 L.F. of 36-inch diameter water main, 180 L.F. 48-inch water in directional drill, butterfly valves, air releases, hydrants and leads, erosion control, concrete curb and gutter, asphalt and concrete pavement repair, pavement marking, traffic control and restoration. All Work is included in a single prime contract. Bidders are responsible for delivery of the Bidders Qualification statement to the office of the Racine Water Utility at least 5 days before the Bid opening date. All Bidders must qualify for 2019. Bids shall be accompanied by a Bond or Certified Check payable to Racine Water Utility equal to 5 percent of the Bid. If the successful Bidder fails to execute the Contract and furnish payment and performance bonds within 15 days after the award, the Check or Bid Bond may be forfeited to Racine Water Utility as liquidated damages. Construction time is of the essence. Completion delays are subject to liquidated damages.
