As of March 10, 2022, this project is in final planning. An architect and construction manager have been selected for the project. Bid Package #1 recently closed bidding and Bid Package #2 is expected to be available the second week of May 2022. *The closed solicitation has been included below for reference: The Office of the State Engineer, on behalf of the South Dakota Board of Regents, is soliciting Statements of Qualifications from firms interested in providing Construction Manager at Risk services required for the construction of the Stanley Marshall Center Renovation and Addition Phase 2 at South Dakota State University, Brookings, South Dakota, OSE# R0319--23X. South Dakota State University plans to construct an addition linking the Stanley J Marshall Center to the Practice Facility, construct a wrestling practice addition to the Stanley J Marshall Center, and to renovate the Stanley J Marshall Center including Frost Arena. The project is located at and surrounding the Stanley J Marshall Center at the northeast corner of the SDSU campus. All campus utilities will be available on the site or adjacent to the site. The new construction will include a link that will fill the gap between the existing building and the new practice facility. This new construction will include team rooms for basketball and volleyball teams, locker and shower facilities, a public concourse, spectator club area, spectator suites, concessions, storage, and food service support facilities. An addition will be constructed to provide wrestling practice, coaches, locker, shower, and team room facilities. The existing Stanley J Marshall Center will be renovated. The renovations will include full renovations to Frost Arena including seating replacement, construction of suites and club areas, concessions upgrades, and fire protection systems. Renovations will also be completed in existing team room and locker facilities to create offices for the coaches, concessions support, general building support, building storage, mechanical and electrical rooms, sports medicine facilities, north concourse, and ticketing facilities. The renovations will integrate necessary maintenance and repairs to building systems and upgrade life safety systems. South Dakota State University desires to construct the project with minimal compromise of its schedule of athletic competitions. The approximate gross area of the concourse addition will be 45,000 gsf. The approximate gross area of the wrestling addition will be 14,750 gsf. The area of renovated space within the Stanley J Marshall Center will be approximately 95,250 gsf. Firms desiring to be considered for providing professional CMR services for this project should send a Statement of Qualifications that must include examples of past experiences on projects with similar size and/or common scope elements.
