Final design of 4th Avenue Cultural Corridor to include site design and construction documents for a safe, pedestrian friendly, and art enhanced corridor in the public right of way which provides a strong visual connection along 4th Avenue N between Main Street and Edmonds Center for the Arts. Interim work on this project since the concept was developed includes a 2015 temporary light artwork “Luminous Forest”, as well as preliminary design development through 2020-21. Funding for this project has not been secured at this time. The 4th Avenue Cultural Corridor Project is managed by the Community Services/Economic Development Department. As of December 3, 2025, this project has been put on hold, but is included in the City of Edmonds' Fiscal Year 2025 - 2030 Capital Improvement Plan. Design work is not expected to begin until 2028 with construction to follow in 2030. *Previous solicitation listed below for reference:* The project builds upon previous work which established a preferred conceptual alternative for the 4th Avenue Cultural Corridor right of way. Specifically, this project creates alternatives to connect property owned by the Edmonds Center for the Arts (ECA) with the completion of the existing alternative concept at the north end of the corridor, completes the concept design element for the small art corner park, and improves upon cost estimation and phasing of the existing concept. The project includes design for the right of way, including public engagement plan, implementation plan, and funding plan. Further details are subject to final negotiation.
