Site work for a water / sewer project in Amherst, Virginia. Completed plans call for site work for a water / sewer project.

Bids may be withdrawn using the procedure set forth in Virginia Code 2.2-4330 B.2. The Town will award the project based on total base bid. The Project consists of the following work: Rehabilitation of approximately 34,500 linear feet of 6-inch, 8-inch, 10-inch, 12-inch, 18-inch, and 21-inch sanitary sewer pipes with a Cured-In-Place (CIPP) lining, miscellaneous point repairs; Rehabilitation of approximately 74 sanitary sewer manholes with cementitious linings; Demolition and replacement of approximately 10 sanitary sewer manholes; Construction and implementation of a new package metering manhole and flow monitoring equipment; Furnish and install approximately 1,430 linear feet of new 8-inch, 10-inch, and 21-inch sanitary sewer pipe and manholes; and Incidental related work. Bid documents are open to the public for inspection at the following locations: Owner: Town of Amherst, 174 South Main Street, Amherst, VA 24521 Engineer: WW Associates, Inc., 110 Vista Centre Drive, Suite 1, Forest, VA 24551, (434) 316-6080 WW Associates, Inc., 968 Olympia Drive, Suite 1, Charlottesville, VA 22911 Bid Security: Bids shall be accompanied by a certified check or an acceptable bid bond in the amount of 5 percent of the base bid. Bidders must be licensed as contractors in the Commonwealth of Virginia in accordance with Title 54.1, Chapter 11 of the Code of Virginia (1950) as amended. Project is funded by the USDA-Rural Development.
