The Board of Education of the Dallas Center-Grimes Community School District, will receive sealed bids for construction of additions consisting of a one and two-story buildings of masonry and steel construction totaling approximately 18,597 square feet, interior renovation work totaling approximately 15,841 square feet, and associated site work. The Owner requires that Project be started on, and Substantially Complete in Phases, as follows: Phase I: Construction Start Date: Immediately following execution of Agreement and Owner receipt and approval of required bonds and insurance. Substantial Completion Date: On or before the 12 day of March, 2021. th Phase I-A: Construction Start Date: Immediately following execution of Agreement and Owner receipt and approval of required bonds and insurance. Substantial Completion Date: On or before the 2 day of August, 2021. nd Phase II: Construction Start Date: On or after the 4 day of June, 2020. th Substantial Completion Date: On or before the 3 day of August, 2020. rd Phase III: Construction Start Date: On or after the 12 day of March, 2021. th Substantial Completion Date: On or before the 2 day of August, 2021. nd Phase IV: Construction Start Date: On or after the 1 day of June, 2021. st Substantial Completion Date: On or before the 2 day of August, 2021. Bidders will be required to provide security deposit in the form of a Bid Bond excecuted by a corporation authorized to contract as surety in the State of Iowa, cashiers or certified check drawn on a solvent Iowa bank or a bank chartered under the laws of the United States, or certified share draft drawn on a credit unit in Iowa or chartered under the laws of the United States of a sum not less than 5 percent of the Base Price/Sum. The bid security should be made payable to the Dallas Center-Grimes Community School District. The bid security must not contain any conditions either in the body or as an endorsement thereon. The bid security shall be forfeited to the District as damages in the event the successful bidder fails or refuses to enter into a contract within 10 days after the award of contract and post bond satisfactory to the District insuring the faithful fulfillment of the contract and the maintenance of said work, if required, pursuant to the provisions of this notice and the other contract documents. The successful Bidder will be required to furnish a Certificate of Insurance and Performance and Labor and Material Payment Bonds both in an amount equal to 100% of the Contract Price and in accordance with other requirements outlined in the Bid Documents. The Board of Education reserves the right to accept or reject any or all Bids, or any part thereof, and to waive informalities or irregularities allowed by law and to enter into such Contract or Contracts as may be deemed in the best interests of the Dallas CenterGrimes Community School District.
