J2969-02-01, 19N265, 2018137.00 Combined MBE/WBE goal of (10.4%) **Sub Bid Deadline: October 8, 2020 12:00 PM SUB-BIDS Sealed bids from qualified sub-bidders who have be prequalified and certified by the Division of Capital Asset Management and Maintenance (DCAMM) are invited for the following sub-trades: Masonry, Miscellaneous & Ornamental Iron, Waterproofing/ Dampproofing & Caulking, Roofing & Flashing, Metal Windows, Glass & Glazing w/Storefront, Tile, Acoustic Tile, Resilient Flooring, Painting, Elevators, Fire Protection, Plumbing, Heating/Ventilation & Air Conditioning and Electrical. Qualified sub-bidders are sub-bidders who have been prequalified by the Awarding Authority for this Project pursuant to Section 19 of Chapter 193, as most recently amended. The Base Project is the construction of a new three-story public elementary school building, associated site work, landscaping and demolition of the existing school and ancillary residential on the site. The gross area of the new building is approximately 120,000 square feet. The new school is designed for 705 students in grades Kindergarten through 5th plus Pre-Kindergarten. The design includes a gymnasium and a cafeteria with a stage, classrooms and various administration and support spaces. The estimated cost of the Project Work is $55,000,000. PROJECT TEAM The project team includes the design firms of TSKP Studio of Hartford, CT and Dietz and Company Architects of Springfield, MA, the Owner's Project Management firm of NV5 of Boston, MA, and the Town of West Springfield BID SECURITY Bid security in the amount of 5% of the bid amount, inclusive of alternates, must accompany each General Bid and each Filed Sub-Bid. BONDS The successful General Bidder, and prequalified sub-bidder selected to execute a sub-contract with the General Contractor, will be required to furnish a performance bond and a labor and materials payment bond, each in the amount of 100% of the Contract Price, and of a surety company qualified to do business under the laws of the Commonwealth. Successful sub-bidders for sub-trades which have not been prequalified will be required to furnish a performance bond and a labor and materials payment bond only if requested to do so by the successful general bidder in its bid, and the cost of such bonds will be paid by the Contractor. AFFIRMATIVE MARKETING PROGRAM The General Bidder selected as the Contractor and each successful sub-bidder will be required to cooperate with the awarding authority to achieve MBE and WBE goals as established by the State Office of Minority and Women Business Assistance (SOMBA) and currently in effect as of the date of submission of the bids, pursuant to SECTION 6 (c) and (d) of Chapter 193, as most recently amended.
