Dept. of Development & Storm Water Management Pleasant Minor Subdivision 1757-D-1 Storm Water Management System Improvements Porter County, Indiana Notice is hereby given that the Porter Co. Department of Development & Storm Water Management is seeking sealed bids for the project designated as Pleasant Minor Subdivision 1757-D-1 - Storm Water Management System Improvements. The project is located near the intersection of CR 950 S and CR 50 E and generally extends from 37 E 950 S south to Pleasant Township Ditch. The project is located in Section 24, Township 33 North, Range 6 West, in Pleasant Township, Porter County, Indiana. The project consists of the installation of new storm water infrastructure to provide a positive outlet for existing storm water and drainage infrastructure serving the area, including roadside ditches and septic system perimeter drains. The project includes installation of storm sewers, via open trench construction, including excavation, placing bedding, laying storm sewer pipe, placing initial backfill, placing final backfill, shaping, trimming and finishing, and cleaning, inspecting, and testing; installation of storm sewer structures, including excavation, placing bedding, setting precast reinforced concrete storm sewer structures, placing adjusting rings and castings, backfilling, shaping, trimming, and finishing, and cleaning; and, a drain tile investigation to confirm the location size, depth, and alignment of an existing septic system perimeter drain and determine the treatments necessary to connect the existing tile to the new storm water infrastructure. It is anticipated that materials generated during excavation, including excavation for storm sewers and storm sewer structures, will be of acceptable quality so as to be used as b borrow on the project. Surplus excavated materials generated during excavation, including excavation for storm sewers and storm sewer structures, will be disposed of off-site. Road cut and repair work will be completed by others. The work includes the carrying out of all duties and obligations and the furnishing of all labor, material, tools, equipment, and other incidentals necessary or convenient to the successful completion of the project.
