Site work and renovation of a civil project in Beaumont, Texas. Completed plans call for the renovation of a water / sewer project; and for site work for a water / sewer project.

As of July 9 , 2020 the project is not yet awarded. A timeline for award has not yet been established. This contract shall provide for the removal of the existing electrical panel and installation of a new elevated platform and new electrical equipment at the Astor Street Lift Station. This contract shall include all necessary labor, equipment, tools, materials, safety measures, environmental protection, disposal of surplus items, site restoration, and all other related construction. The contractor shall coordinate with City personnel when removing a unit from service and/or restoring a unit to service. B. WORK TO BE ACCOMPLISHED Contractor shall coordinate with City personnel prior to commencing work. All work is to be performed in strict accordance with the guidelines and procedures set forth within the Contract Specifications. This contract includes, but is not limited to, the following: 1. Remove existing electrical equipment 2. Construct a new galvanized steel elevated platform 3. Install all new electrical equipment including new underground electrical service 4. Install new Owner furnished pumps. 5. Construct related site improvements including a new concrete slab and fencing C. WARRANTY The Contractor shall provide a warranty to the Owner for a period of one (1) year from the date of final acceptance to the extent that he will repair any defects which may appear in the work done due to faulty installation. D. SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS 1. The Contractor shall pay close attention to the project schedule to ensure that the work is completed in a timely manner and the proposed improvements can be place in operation without delays. 2. Contractor shall restore the construction sites to their original condition or better. 3. Contractor shall coordinate work and bypass pumping with City staff prior to starting construction. 4. The Contractor shall provide all safety measures while performing the work. 5. The Contractor shall complete the City of Beaumont Water Utility Service Agreement for Fire Hydrant Construction Meters; see attached copy. ( If necessary) The City reserves the right, after opening Bids, to reject any or all bids or to make award to accept any bid or combination of bids deemed advantageous to it. Bidders must submit Bid Bond, Cashier's Check, Certified Check or irrevocable Letter of Credit issued by a bank satisfactory to the Owner, payable without recourse to the order of the City of Beaumont in an amount not less than five (5) percent of the largest possible bid amount as a guaranty that the Bidder will enter into contract and execute bond and guaranty in the form provided within fourteen (14) calendar days after date of Notice of Award of the contract. Bids without required financial security deposit will not be considered. Prevailing wage rates for Jefferson County, published as part of the Contract Documents and subject to revisions, shall govern or control minimum rates for work performed during execution of the contract. Also, qualifications being equal, citizens of the City of Beaumont shall be given preference in employment for work performed under the contract
