Site work, paving and new construction of a mixed-use development in Rockwell, North Carolina. Completed plans call for the construction of a 6,500-square-foot fire / police facility; for site work for a fire / police facility; sidewalk / parking lot; and for paving for a sidewalk / parking lot.

The Project consists of the construction of a new building to house the Rockwell Police Department. The approximately 6,500 s.f. building is steel framed with insulated lightgage metal stud infill wall framing, metal bar joist/metal deck roof structure with an insulated TPO roofing. Exterior finishes include a utility brick installed below an EFIS covered top cornice. An elevated corner feature highlights the front entrance. Aluminum storefront framing and insulated glazing are overhang by sunshade awning devices and rear salliport overhead garage doors comprise the exterior openings.The interior rooms include a reception lobby, offices, police training room, fitness training room, storage for equipment, supplies, and evidence, kitchen, toilets, shower, salliport garage. Partitions are drywall clad gypsum board with HM door frames and wood doors. Interior finishes include acoustical ceiling tile and grid, VCT, carpet, rubber base, and ceramic tile. Some walls have bullet resistant linings. Accessories include flag pole, concrete barrier bollards, bullet resistant teller window, personnel lockers, evidence lockers, toilet/shower accessories, kitchen cabinets, and security features, Normal supporting Plumbing, Mechanical and Electrical construction work is included. A natural gas generator is included in the electrical work. Fiber and Data cabling will be provided by the Owner. Exterior Work includes, concrete sidewalks, asphalt paved parking lots with concrete curb and guttering, landscaping and grass seeding, removal of existing paving and base, removal of the existing Police Department building/foundation after the new building is occupied. The Owner will remove the minor amounts of asbestos previously identified prior to the building demolition General Construction work includes major subcontractors: Site Civil Utility work Demolition work Plumbing work. HVAC work. Electrical work. Proposals shall be received for a Single Prime contract for General Construction, including Site, Demolition, Plumbing, Mechanical, and Electrical work. Each proposal must be accompanied by a certified check drawn on a bank or trust company insured by the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation in an amount equal to not less than 5% of the proposal. In lieu thereof, a bidder may offer a bid bond of 5% of the bid, executed by a surety company licensed under the laws of North Carolina to execute such bonds, conditioned that the surety will, upon demand forthwith make payment to the Obligee upon said bond, if the bidder fails to execute the contract in accordance with the bid bond. Separate Performance and Payment Bond will be required each for one hundred percent (100%) of the contract price. No bid may be withdrawn after time set for receiving bids for a period of forty-five (45) days. The Owner reserves the right to waive irregularities and to reject any or all proposals. Addendum #1 has been issued. Addendum #2 has been issued.
