The City of Phoenix is seeking a qualified contractor to provide preconstruction services and complete construction services for a new 16" Cave Creek and Lone Mountain Waterline Connection Construction Manager at Risk (CMAR) project. The selected CMAR will work as a team with the designer of record and City staff to ensure an efficient design approach for the project along with coordinating with 10A-B1 BPS Improvement CMAR contractor (selected through a separate advertisement). The project sites are 16" Waterline in Cave Creek Road, and 16" Waterline in Lone Mountain Rd (between Cave Creek Road and 56th St). Design phase services for this project are funded in Fiscal Year 2019/20 with Construction in Fiscal Year 2021/22 The City needs to construct approximately 1.0 mile of new 16" waterline to connect between existing infrastructure south of Carefree Highway and the new 10A-B1 BPS, and approximately 1.0 mile of new 16" waterline will also be constructed along Lone Mountain Road for system resiliency when the improved BPS is in operation. The proposed waterlines will require extensive coordination with Operations and other divisions, as well as with the Town of Cave Creek and their representatives. As both waterlines must be operational for the BPS improvements to come online, construction activities will need to be performed in parallel within a tight construction schedule and budget. It is anticipated the construction will be completed by Fall 2022. The selected firm will also need to coordinate with Remote Facilities and Distribution for shutdown and isolation of the BPS and Waterlines. The design and construction for this project includes the following, but are not limited to: 16" Waterline in Cave Creek Road (between Apache Rain to Carefree Highway) o Approximately 4,800 LF of 16" DIP in Cave Creek Road o Approximately 1,200 LF of 20" DIP for 10A-B1 suction piping o Extension of an existing 12" DIP waterline in near the intersection of Cave Creek Road and Carefree Highway to tie into the 16" waterline o Extension of an existing 8" DIP waterline to tie into the new 16" main o Miscellaneous other minor service connection tie-ins, and o Cathodic protection as required. 16" Waterline in Lone Mountain Road (between Cave Creek Road and 56 th St) o Approximately 6,300 LF of 16" DIP in Lone Mountain Road, o New fire hydrants being added to existing distribution main in Lone Mountain Rd, o Connections to existing mains at Cave Creek Rd and 56 th St, and o Cathodic protection as required.
