Demolition, site work, paving and new construction of a bridge / tunnel in Wellsville, Pennsylvania. Conceptual plans call for the demolition of a bridge / tunnel; for the construction of a bridge / tunnel; for site work for a bridge / tunnel; and for paving for a bridge / tunnel.
Plans call to replace the bridge superstructure which includes the bridge beams, deck and barrier on the existing alignment. The existing structure is a single span prestressed concrete adjacent box beam bridge built in 1959. The structure has a span length of 51.5 feet and carries a roadway with two 11.5-foot lanes and 4-foot shoulders. The replacement superstructure will be a single span, prestressed concrete spread box beam carrying 11-foot lanes and 6-foot shoulders. Additionally, the roadway will be reconstructed for approximately 150 feet along the southern approach to the bridge and 100 feet along the northern approach. Guide rail will be updated in all quadrants. As of August 28, 2020, this project is in design stage. Construction is slated to begin Fall of 2022 and to be completed in Spring of 2023. A professional design services solicitation timeline has not been disclosed. .
