The project involves the renovation of an existing stone arch bridge including repointing and resetting of existing stonework, application of a shotcrete lining, and installation of new curbing. Project is for the repair of the existing stone arch culvert under Kimberton Road in East Pikeland Township in the village of Kimberton. The work will require bypass pumping of the stream in order to apply a gunite lining to the barrel of the arch. The walls and parapets are to be repointed and loose stones shall be reset. A new concrete curb and wood rail are to be installed on the roadway. Proposals shall be accompanied by a bid security in the amount of ten percent of the total amount of the proposal. Proposals shall be effective for 90 days from the date of opening. The successful low bidder will be required to provide a 100% performance bond or certified check, a 100% payment bond or certified check, a workers compensation affidavit, and a certificate of insurance naming East Pikeland Township and LTL Consultants as additional insureds, all within 20 days after the contract is awarded. East Pikeland Township reserves the right to waive any non-material defects or irregularities in the bid, and to reject any or all bids or portions thereof. East Pikeland Township, in accordance with Title VI of the U.S. Civil Rights Act of 1964 and Parts 21 and 23 of 49 C.F.R., notifies all bidders that it will affirmatively insure that MBE/WBE will be afforded full opportunity to submit bids in response to this invitation and that no person will be discriminated against on the grounds of race, color, sex or national origin in consideration for an award. Project is to be substantially completed by December 31, 2020. Liquidated damages apply at the rate of $400.00 per calendar day. Proposals must include the Public Works Employment Verification Form completed by the Bidder.
