This Notice Inviting Bids seeks submittals of Bids to widen, retrofit and rehabilitate the Bear Valley Road Overhead Bridge at the Burlington Northern Santa Fe (BNSF) Railroad crossing. The bridge would be widened 34.25 feet to accommodate the construction of 6-footwide sidewalks, 8-foot wide shoulders, and a 12-foot wide median. Retrofitting the bridge would involve seismic retrofits and construction of pier protection walls (crash walls). Rehabilitation of the bridge would require sealing of the deck with methacrylate resin. Additional improvements include widening the roadway approaches to accommodate the widened bridge, modification of the traffic signals at Industrial Boulevard and Ridgecrest Road, and increasing the left-turn vehicle storage capacity at the Ridgecrest Road intersection. All questions, other than those asked at the pre-bid meeting, must be submitted in writing to cmcalderon@victorvilleca.gov. Questions will not be accepted after 5 p.m. on TUESDAY, JUNE 15, 2021. Prospective Bidders may visit the Project site without making arrangements through the City of Victorville. In no event shall failure to inspect the site constitute grounds for a claim after contract award. Each Bid Proposal shall be accompanied by: (a) cash; (b) a certified or cashier's check; or (c) a bidder's bond made payable to City of Victorville in an amount equal to ten percent (10%) of the Total Base Bid as bid security. Said bid security shall be enclosed in the same envelope as the Bid Proposal and no bid shall be considered unless such bid security is enclosed therewith. The successful Bidder will be also required to furnish performance and payment bonds, each in an amount equal to one hundred percent (100%) of the Total Base Bid ENGINEER'S ESTIMATE: $8,290,000.00 TO $9,290,000.00. *The value for this project is based on a financial range. The value is listed as the highest possible cost from the range provided by a stakeholder or official project document.
