As of February 24, 2022, a general contractor has been awarded and construction is underway. *The closed solicitation has been included below for reference: Catawba County is requesting statements of qualifications from Professional Firms interested in providing Architectural/Engineering Design services required to design and construct a new Newton EMS Base and the future construction of a new Hickory EMS Base and St. Stephens EMS Base. The approved building design for the new Newton EMS Base will serve as a master design and be replicated, with minor adjustments, for use in the construction of the Hickory EMS Base and St. Stephens EMS Base. The selected Firm should be prepared to have complete drawings and specifications for bidding and permitting, for the new Newton EMS Base, ready for submission for all applicable permits and authorizations within 90 calendar days of being given a notice to proceed by the County. Written questions regarding the RFQ shall be emailed to tinawright@catawbacountync.gov by January 14, 2021. Responses to questions will be provided in the form of an Addendum. Catawba County reserves the right to reject any/all submittals. The County assumes no contractual obligation as a result of the issuance of this request, the preparation or submission of a qualifications statement by a Firm, the evaluation of statements or final selection. Once the submittals have been reviewed, if necessary, the County reserves the right to shortlist Firm(s) and request that the Firm(s) conduct a presentation and be interviewed by the selection committee. Information regarding requirements and instructions for the preparation of qualifications statements are contained in the following RFQ. Please read the entire document carefully. The method of contractor selection has not been determined at this time.
