Site work and new construction of a stadium in Chestermere, Alberta. Conceptual plans call for the construction of a 148,000-square-foot, two-story above grade stadium.
The project scope will include the pre-construction and construction services to build the City of Chestermere's Civic Recreation Centre project. The City of Chestermere's Project Management Office, is seeking to prequalify construction managers ("Respondents"), for the pre-construction services and construction services of a City owned and operated recreation facility. It is anticipated to cost approximately $30,000,000 for construction and has potential to include a pre-engineered structure for a fieldhouse and traditional construction of a lobby, reception, administration, multi-purpose space, fitness centre, parking, and landscaping. TIMELINE: Project was awarded to Stuart Olson / Bird Construction. Ground breaking took place in August 2021, however the new council voted to terminate the project in November 2021. Coverage of this report has been discontinued. *Approved budget for this project is $39.5 Million and will be funded by developers (through offsite levies), and government grants.
