Renovation of a detention facility in Chester, Illinois. Design plans call for the renovation of a detention facility.
As of November 3, 2022, an engineer has been selected. The stage of design and a firm timeline for construction has not been determined. *The closed solicitation has been included below for reference: The scope of work provides for replacing the 4160 volt primary electrical distribution system at this facility. The work includes all new primary medium voltage cabling underground and overhead, from the point of supply by the serving utility to the step down transformers supplying the facility. The work also includes new substations, medium voltage switching units and medium voltage transformers. APPROPRIATED AMOUNT: $21,249,200 PROFESSIONAL LIABILITY INSURANCE REQUIRED: $4,500,000 PROJECT FEE CLASSIFICATION: Group II R Questions related to any information in the PSB, including instructions and submittal procedures should be directed to the QBS Department at 217/524-6400. The procurement of design services by the Capital Development Board (CDB) is governed by the Illinois Compiled Statutes; Illinois Procurement Code, 30 ILCS 500 and Architectural, Engineering and Land Surveying Qualifications Based Selection Act, 30 ILCS 535. The A/E will need to determine if any components of this project are eligible for a utility company or other energy grant/rebate and will be responsible for preparing and submitting the grant application if the project qualifies for the rebate. A combined MBE/WBE goal of 20 percent is applicable to the A/E team. Some level of participation from both MBE and WBE firms is required to satisfy this goal (this requires including one or more MBE AND one or more WBE firms on the team). A VBE/PBE goal of 3 percent is applicable to the A/E team. The interviews for this project are tentatively scheduled for December 8, 2021.
