Site work for a water / sewer project in Comox, British Columbia. Completed plans call for site work for a water / sewer project.
The Comox Valley Regional District (CVRD) is seeking proposals from qualified consulting engineering firms to provide engineering services for the Comox Valley Sewerage Service, design-bid-build component of the Sewer System Conveyance Project. The CVRD operates and maintains the CVSS that provides bulk conveyance and treatment of wastewater from the service. The system includes gravity and sewer forcemains, pump stations, secondary treatment of wastewater at the CVWPCC, and discharge through a marine outfall off Cape Lazo. The CVRD handles transmission and treatment of wastewater from collection systems operated by the City of Courtenay, Town of Comox, Department of National Defense and KFN. The Project will upgrade the primary forcemain and three pump stations that conveys wastewater from the majority of the service population. The 2020 total capital cost estimate for the sewer conveyance upgrade project is approximately $73 million. The total capital cost estimate for the DBB works for the cut and cover portion of the Project through the Town of Comox is $20 million. The remaining project scope will be completed separately from the DBB scope.
