Engineering projects could include, and are not limited to sewer systems improvements, specific wastewater treatment process or mechanical features, and recycled water storage, distribution and land application facilities. Specific expertise may be required in the following fields: 1. Civil Engineering, specializing in Wastewater Engineering 2. Electrical Engineering 3. Mechanical Engineering 4. SCADA systems, process and instrumentation 5. Structural Engineering Typical tasks associated with Wastewater Treatment Design and Management projects may include any of the following: 1. Development of wastewater treatment and process system design 2. Preparation of engineering plans and specifications for wastewater treatment systems. 3. Assist with troubleshooting wastewater treatment system processes 4. Provide guidance on wastewater treatment process improvements and operations 5. Coordination with regulatory agencies regarding wastewater treatment and discharge permitting issues (e.g. State and Regional Water Quality Control Board, Air Pollution Control District, Environmental Protection Agency) 6. Review and comment on correspondence received from regulatory agencies 7. Review and comment on wastewater projects prepared by Public Works Department staff Professional Licensing Requirements: C - Civil Engineer, E - Electrical Engineer, or M - Mechanical Engineer, licensed in the State of California, as defined by the Professional Engineers Act, or a combinations of the above dependent on the project.
