Site work for a water / sewer project in Mercer Island, Washington. Conceptual plans call for site work for a water / sewer project.
300 to 400 LINEAR FEET (LF)of pipe extension from East Mercer Way to SE 52nd Street, and pipe outfall protection downstream of I-90 and west of 77th Avenue SE. The seasonal watercourse in SB47.4 flows from East Merce Way to SE 52nd street thru 9426 SE 52nd street, creating some erosion around the residence. Meanwhile the outfall of a to 60" pipe in SB10.4 that drains from the business district and into an open channel. The riprap thickness at the outfall is thin and more material may be undersized. Project design to begin in 2022, permitting with state and federal agencies to follow. When permits are received, construction can take place in Summer of 2023. As of December 21, 2022, this project is currently in the FY 2023-2028 CIP . Funding for this project is allotted in the city's capital improvement plan for construction Fy 2026. A firm timeline has not been established; however, construction is scheduled for Fiscal Year 2026. *Project information has been obtained through a public capital improvement plan (CIP). A CIP is a financial schedule for short- and long-range projects which is updated regularly. Information listed in the CIP often evolves based on funding availability and the project details, including timeline and value, are subject to change.
