If the dam fails, there could be significant clean-up and potential loss of non-motorized path and Lovers Lane access road. The dam also prevents fish spawning and passage and changes the depth of the creek preventing kayak usage. This project is in included in the City of Portage FY 2023-2029 Capital Improvement Plan (CIP).
