Site work and paving for a mixed-use development in Portage, Michigan. Conceptual plans call for site work for a development; sidewalk / parking lot; and for paving for a sidewalk / parking lot.

2022-2023: Concept and engineering design for development of the 11.5-acre Betty Ongley Nature Preserve. The design phase will include a public charrette for community input. 2023-2024: Improvements to the parking areaon East Kilgore Road with park signage. Construction of wood chip trail from Kilgore Road; construction of a pedestrian bridge over Portage Creek; and woodchip trails around the Preserve with interpretivegraphics and seating areas. Project Justification/need: The Betty Lee Ongley Nature Preserve land was dedicated to the City in 2018. Currently there is no access to the property. Off-street parking and a pedestrian trail will need to be developed from East Kilgore Road. As of May 4, 2022, this project is currently in the FY 2022-2028 CIP . Funding for this project is allotted in the city's capital improvement plan for construction Fy 2023. A firm timeline has not been established; however, construction is scheduled for Fiscal Year 2023. *Project information has been obtained through a public capital improvement plan (CIP).
