Site work and paving for a mixed-use development in Portage, Michigan. Conceptual plans call for site work for a playground / park / athletic field; sidewalk / parking lot; and for paving for a sidewalk / parking lot.

FY 25-26: A&E and construction of beach deck to provide a large eating area for patrons and also for others using the courts and fields at the park. The dock would enable boats to safely moor at the beach and provide ADA access to the water for swimming. The parking lot landscaping will provide a low maintenance barrier to keep vehicles from entering the park grounds, which is currently a significant issue. FY 26-27: A&E and construction for volleyball court expansion to assist in meeting current demands, and the Lakeshore Boardwalk will enable pedestrian and ADA accessibility along the waterfront. FY 27-28: Parking lot expansion would alleviate lack of parking in current beach lots. This project is in included in the City of Portage FY 2024-2030 Capital Improvement Plan (CIP). As of May 13, 2025, information regarding a design team and the contractor selection has not been disclosed.
