The University of Connecticut Bio-Physics Building has climatecontrolled rooms on the 3rd floor. The existing equipment for 6 of these rooms is outdated and in need of replacement. Work consists of removal and replacement of evaporator from each room. Removal and replacement of the controls and control panel for each room. Removal and Replacement of the condensers (6) in Mechanical Room 501, testing of existing refrigerant lines, minor work with ceilings, plumbing. Electrical and insulation. Disposal of all waste material and start of and commissioning of each rooms system after installation. There is an alternate is for the replacement of the refrigerant lines (two for each room) to be replaced instead of being reused. Only On-Call $100K-$500K HVAC Contractors are prequalified and may submit a Bid for this Project Q&A (RFI) Due Date and Time 12/8/2021 2:00PM The construction is planned to start: APRIL 1ST 2022 Construction duration: SIX MONTHS Each Bid shall be accompanied by a Bid Bond in the form required and provided by University and having as surety thereto such surety company or companies as are authorized to do business in the State of Connecticut, and for an amount not less than 10 percent of the Total Bid Amount. A Bid Bond is only required for any Total Bid Amount over $50,000.00. A Total Bid Amount of $50,000.00 or less does not require a Bid Bond. The University reserves the right to accept or reject any or all Bids within ninety (90) calendar days of the Bid opening, Should there be reasons why the contract cannot be awarded within this specified period, this time may be extended by mutual agreement between the University and the Bidder.
