Site work and paving for a civil project in Benton Harbor, Michigan. Completed plans call for site work for a road / highway; for paving for a road / highway; and water / sewer project.

As of February 4, 2022, the project has not yet been awarded. A timeline for award not yet been established. As of 01/04/2022 obtained the low bidder which Harris Conag in the amount of $1,198,201.10. The project primarily consists of furnishing all material and constructing the following approximate quantities: - 3,300' of Sanitary Sewer Abandonment - 365' of 21" and 2,810' of 8" Sanitary Sewer - 2,700 ' of Road Reconstruction - 390' of 18" Storm Sewer Work also includes, but is not limited to, incidental storm sewer removal and replacement, verification of existing sanitary lateral status, bypass pumping, maintenance of traffic, and restoration. Contractor shall furnish adequate material, equipment, labor, and supervision to complete the specified work, which also includes testing and placing the systems in operation in compliance with the standards of these specifications. The work to be performed under this contract will be financed and paid for by funds received from by the Michigan Department of Environment, Great Lakes, and Energy (EGLE) State Revolving Fund (SRF), the EGLE Drinking Water Revolving Fund (DWRF). SRF and DWRF monies will be received by Benton Charter Township. Davis-Bacon/Prevailing Federal Wages apply to this project. Federal Labor Standards Provisions and associated documents that are incorporated in this contract are included in Appendix B. The SRF Project Number is 5729-01. The Contractor also will be required to comply with the debarment and American Iron and Steel contractual language included in Appendix C. A bid bond, certified check, or cashier's check payable to Benton Charter Township in an amount equal to five percent (5%) of the total price shall accompany each bid. This surety shall bind the bidder for a period of 90 days after the receipt of bids. The Owner reserves the right to reject any or all bids and to waive any irregularities in bidding. No bid may be withdrawn after the scheduled closing time for receiving bids for at least one hundred twenty (120) days thereafter. A Partial Notice to Proceed with only tree removal work will be issued upon receipt of Contractor's required bonds and insurance. All tree removals must be complete by March 31, 2022. A Notice to Proceed for all other work will be issued upon successful completion of financial arrangements with the State Revolving Fund, which is expected on or about April 8, 2022. Other than tree removal work, work on-site may not begin prior to April 18, 2022, must be substantially complete within 75 calendar days of starting work on site, and must be substantially complete no later than July 29, 2022. The days required to complete the tree removal work in March will not be counted in the Contract Times as described in Section 4.03 of the Agreement.
