This invitation to bid is to obtain an offer to perform work to complete the construction of the replacement of the HVAC system, suspended acoustical tile ceilings, lights, and exterior doors and windows. The project also includes new electronic access control at select exterior doors. All bids shall be on a lump sum basis. All bids shall be accompanied by a bid guarantee of not less than 5% of the amount of the bid, which may be a certified check, cashier's check, or bid bond of 5% of the amount of the bid, made payable to the Waynesboro City, VA School Board. A performance bond and payment bond will be required, and the cost shall be included in the base bid. The Owner reserves the right to waive irregularities and reject any or all bids. The work to be done hereunder includes, but may not be limited to, the furnishing of all labor and materials and performing all work for demolition and replacement of the HVAC system, suspended acoustical tile ceilings, lights, and exterior windows and doors at Berkeley Glenn Elementary School in Waynesboro, Virginia for Waynesboro City, VA Public Schools. The project includes coordination with the Owner's asbestos abatement contractor (under separate contract) for removal of asbestos containing building materials as required for the work, and it includes a new electronic access control system, as indicated on the Contract Documents, and as specified herein. Time is of the essence and the Owner requires that the HVAC system, window replacement, ceiling replacement, and lighting replacement be substantially complete in all classrooms (25 classrooms, total) by August 1, 2022. The Owner requires that the entire project be Substantially Complete by January 2, 2023. The project shall reach Final Completion by February 2, 2023.
