Renovation of an educational facility in Monroe, Michigan. Design plans call for the renovation of a educational facility.

As of July 27, 2022, information regarding award and award has not been disclosed. A firm timeline for construction has not been disclosed. *The closed solicitation has been included below for reference: Monroe County Community College (MCCC) is requesting three (3) hard copies and an electronic copy of your submission for architectural and engineering services for the modifications to the Whitman Center in part with the relocation and expansion of our Criminal Justice Program. Phase One of the design process would entail master planning the site for this facility which is located at our extension site in southern Monroe County, and assisting the College in determining its overall feasibility based on planned use and possible future development. In addition, we are planning on following through with the schematic design process which would include the programming process involving key personnel from the College in a series of meetings resulting in a set of presentation plans, renderings, etc. The subsequent Phase Two would cover Design Development, Construction Documents, and Construction Administration, and would fall under a separate contract. This project is self-funded by the College via funds collected through a Maintenance and Improvement Millage Renewal approved by the Monroe County electorate in November 2020. The millage renewal is providing an additional $25-30 million for campus-wide building renovations/additions. The total project cost will be determined as part of the master planning process as will the project schedule. To meet programmatic needs of the Criminal Justice Program, it is anticipated that this project will begin during the 2021-2022 academic year. A task force will review proposals for architectural services for the proposed renovations to the Whitman Center. As part of the review process, firms may be asked to make a presentation to the task force. The task force may also visit various projects. The task force will make a recommendation to the College's Board of Trustees regarding the selection of an architectural firm for this project. The College reserves the right to reject any and all Request for Qualifications, or to negotiate separately with any source whatsoever in any manner necessary to best serve the needs and interests of the College. All questions regarding this project and/or proposal requirements should be directed to: Jack Burns Jr. | NCARB Director of Campus Planning and Facilities Monroe County Community College 1555 South Raisinville Road Monroe, MI 48161 Telephone: (734) 384-4249 Email: jburns@monroeccc.edu The method of Contractor Selection has not been Determined at this time.
