The French Broad River snakes its way through the mountains and hills of Asheville. The City of Asheville capitalizes on Nature's bounty by having the Riverfront Greenway. Pedestrians of the Greenway can enjoy the natural beauty of the river on one side while also being adjacent to the vibrant and eclectic River Arts District on the other. The City of Asheville is requesting proposals from qualified, licensed landscape contractors with deep horticultural knowledge to successfully maintain the turfgrass, wetland landscape and mulch planting areas. The selected landscape contractors will: Correct horticultural practices for keeping the turf areas mowed at the proper height. Edging sidewalks adjacent to the turf areas and string trimming areas not reachable by mowing equipment. Blowing clumped up clippings from turf areas after mowing and also removing clippings from sidewalks or mulched areas. Prune trees and shrubs to comply with ANSI A300 Standards Maintain mulch beds by applying new double ground hardwood while also keeping beds weed free. Monitor Wetlands for Algae Plum Leaf removal during the fall while leaves are falling. Projected Project Start March 01, 2022.
