The 2022 PCC Reconstruction Program - SE Peachtree Drive project includes pavement reconstruction and minor utility improvements along SE Peachtree Drive from just north of SE Magnolia Drive to just south of SE Oralabor Road in the City of Ankeny. The construction improvements include the slip-form paving of approximately 3,550 SY of 8" PCC Class C-SUD street pavement, along with approximately 275 SY of 7" PCC Class C-SUD intersection handwork, 250 SY of 7" PCC Class C commercial driveways, and 225 SY of 6" PCC Class C residential driveways. Other associated improvements include Class 10 excavation, subgrade preparation, modified subbase placement, subdrain removal and replacement, reconnection of storm sewer service stubs, minor adjustments to existing storm sewer structures, surface restoration, temporary traffic control, mobilization, and miscellaneous associated work necessary to complete the project. The Contractor shall fully complete the overall project within eighty-five (85) working days. Full completion for the overall project shall be defined as all utility, grading, and pavement construction completed, with the new streets, driveways, and sidewalks fully open to traffic, and all improvements ready for final acceptance. A mandatory six-day work week is required and working days will be charged on Saturdays. Should the Contractor fail to fully complete the work within this timeframe, liquidated damages of One Thousand Dollars ($1,000.00) per calendar day will be assessed for work not fully completed within the designated Contract term(s). The City of Ankeny does hereby reserve the right to reject any or all bids, to waive informalities, and to enter into such contract, or contracts, as it shall deem to be in the best interest of the City.
