Water Filter Plant Bulk Tank Installation. Scope includes rigging and plumbing of new bulk chemical storage tanks. Estimated Cost $15,000 The Southbridge Water Department operates the Southbridge Water Filtration Plant located at 511 Breakneck Rd. in Southbridge MA. This is a 6 MGD surface water filtration plant consisting of 3 Siemens/Westech Trident filter units. The original construction and operation of this facility began in 1999. At this time, we requesting quotes for rigging, placement and plumbing of 2 new 2000-gallon sodium hydroxide bulk storage tanks that will replace the one original existing 4200-gallon bulk storage tank, and all related plumbing & fabrication outlined below. This quote is for labor only. Town of Southbridge will supply all materials. Rigging of two new 2000-gallon tanks into the bulk containment pit. Install existing "day tank" and tank stand into the containment pit. Tank stand will require modification to the legs (metal fabrication and welding). All plumbing needed to reconnect overhead chemical fill line from existing overhead line to both tanks including isolation valves. All plumbing to reconnect bulk tanks to the suction side of day tank transfer pump, and discharge fill line to the chemical day tank including isolation valves. Using supplied fiberglass uni-strut construct a new chemical feed pump rack. Pump racks should be constructed in way that is consistent with other feed stations at the treatment plant. Install existing chemical feed pumps onto rack system, plumb all chemical pump discharge piping including antisiphon valves, pressure relief valves, manifolding pump discharges for redundant operations, and connect to overhead chemical feed lines. Filter Plant operators have drafted design sketch of preferred layout that can be referenced during a site visit. Pump plumbing should be consistent with other feed stations at the treatment plant. All plumbing from chemical day tank to the suction side feed of chemical feed pumps (3) Contractor will be required to pay prevailing wage rates for all employees working on site. See rate schedule attached. Contractor will be required to provide OSHA cards and certified payroll reports for all employees working on site, to accompany any requests for payment.
