The project involves the deepening and widening of a portion of the existing L-16 Bolles East Canal in order to increase the conveyance capacity. The new canal cross section will be 30 to 45-foot bottom width with an invert elevation of -4.0 ft NAVD. The construction extends approximately 1.2 miles. In addition, the work will include constructing farm ditches, an access road along the length of the newly excavated canal, two new bridges and demolition of old bridges. The construction extends approximately 1.2 miles. In addition, the work will include constructing farm ditches, an access road along the length of the newly excavated canal, two new bridges and demolition of old bridges. The two bridges will be pile supported concrete bridges utilizing FDOT Slab Beams, approximately 100' in length and 38' wide. Directions: Take SR 80 west until SR 80 and SR 15 intersection. Turn onto SR 15 heading south for approximately 4.2 miles and turn onto CR827A headed south. Travel 3.5 miles and arrive to CR 827A and CR 827 intersection (Boca Chica Bridge). Access will be from CR827 at the intersection of CR827 and CR827A south of Belle Glade
