2022 Fifty Acre Park Turf Maintenance Period of Coverage April 1st 2022 - November 1st 2022 Services required (30 weekly visits) Litter pickup and debris removal All garbage/ litter shall be picked up and removed from the entire service area before mowing begins, so as to prevent the spreading of debris. Mowing All mowing shall be done in a manner that is neat, orderly, and considerate of the public that the Village of Evergreen Park serves. Mowers shall be kept in good working order with sharp blades at all times while performing mowing operations for the Village of Evergreen Park. Care needs to be taken to avoid damaging trees and fences with mowers. Contractor will be responsible for repair of damaged infrastructure. All turf will be cut to maintain a height of 2.5"-3" as conditions warrant. Mowing patterns shall be alternated to facilitate the incorporation of grass clippings back into the natural soil cycle. Any excess clippings shall be removed from the service area. The service area is to be maintained on the same day each week on normal business days, unless specific days are mentioned in the description of the service area. Work may not start before 7:00 A.M. and must be completed by 3:00 P.M. due to evening activities. If the area can't be serviced due to a holiday or severe weather, then an alternate service day must be worked out with Public Works personnel. There may also be events scheduled by the Village that require and alternate service day to be set. Whip trimming and Edging Any turf areas that are not accessible by a mower shall be whip trimmed on a weekly basis. Any hard surface adjacent to the turf area shall be kept in a weed free manner. Hard surfaces such as sidewalks and curbs shall be edged with a power edger at least once per month. All hard surfaces shall be cleaned of grass clippings or debris prior to leaving the service area! A neat edge is to be maintained around where mulch and turf meet. However, weeding of landscaped areas is not included in this contract! Service Areas 50 Acre Park - located at 91st and California Ave. This consists of all turf areas inside the park. Pasture area will only be serviced upon request. Cutting of the driving range needs to be coordinated' with driving range staff to insure golf balls are picked up before cutting. This park needs to be serviced on Thursday or Friday because of scheduled weekend events. Any questions will be directed to the Public Works Director, William E. Lorenz at 708.229.3360. Please take note that all of the insurance noted below is required. For example, the Village of Evergreen Park must be named as additional insured on a "primary, noncontributory basis" for Part 1 noted below. Also, a separate OCP policy naming the Village of Evergreen Park as the "Insured" and must also be obtained as outlined under Part 2 below, and all insurance noted under Parts 3, 4 and 5 below must be provided, unless specifically deleted for this project. Minimum Limits of Insurance Contractor and his Subcontractors shall maintain limits of no less than: 1. Contractors - Commercial General Liability: $1,000,000 combined single limit per occurrence for bodily injury, personal injury and property damage. The general aggregate shall be twice the required occurrence limit. Minimum General Aggregate shall be no less than $2,000,000. The General Liability Policy shall include coverage for Contractual Liability and Broad Form Property Damage Coverage. The Village of Evergreen Park shall be named as Additional Insured on a Primary Non-Contributorv basis. The Policy will include a Per Project Aggregate Endorsement. Also, any "XCU Exclusions" shall be deleted. 2. Village of Evergreen Park Contractors Protective Liability: OCP limits shall be $1,000,000 combined single limit per occurrence for bodily injury and property damage. The general aggregate shall be twice the required occurrence limit. Minimum General Aggregate shall be no less than $2,000,000. The General Liability Policy shall include coverage for Contractual Liability. There will be NO deductible or self-insured retention amount due on this OCP policy. The coverage afforded by this OCP policy shall be primary and at no time shall any endorsements, additional forms, or riders be attached that would modify or limit said coverage. 3. Automobile Liability: $1,000,000 combined single limit per accident for bodily sed by the Contractor. 4. Workers' Compensation and Employers' Liability: Workers' Compensation limits as required by the Labor Code of the State of Illinois and Employers' Liability limits of $1,000,000 per accident. The Policy will also include a Waiver of Subrogation in favor of The Village of Evergreen Park. 5. Umbrella Liability: Umbrella Liability Policy for not less than $2,000,000. The contractor and sub contractors shall pay wages at the rates not less than those prevailing on similar construction in the locality as determined by the Secretary of Labor in accordance with the Davis-Bacon Act as amended (40 U.S.C. 276-276a-5) and shall receive overtime compensation in accordance with and subject to the provisions of the Contract Work Hours and Safety Standards Act (40 U.S.C. 327- 333) and the Contractor and sub contractors shall comply with all regulations issued pursuant to these Acts and other applicable Federal laws and regulations pertaining to labor standards. The Secretary of Labor has, with respect to the labor standards specified in this Section, the authority and functions set forth in Reorganization Plan Number 14 of 1950 (5 U.S.C. 113z-15) and Section 2 of the Act of June 13, 1934 as amended (40 U.S.C. 276c).
