The purpose of the project is to repair damaged pavement on Oak and Holly Avenues in advance of surface treatment, and in other locations defined by the Borough to repair failed pavements. This project consists of the following work: Pavement Repairs - Base Repairs on Oak and Holly Avenues: - Remove four (4) inches surface material by milling or by saw cutting and excavating. - Compact area to provide stable subbase. - Place four inches compacted Superpave 25 mm WMA. - Pavement Surface Patches on Oak and Holly Avenues: - Remove one and a half 1 1/2 inches surface material by milling or by saw cutting and excavating. - Place one and a half 1 1/2 inches compacted Superpave 9.5 mm WMA. - In other locations specified by Borough, - Remove five and a half (5 1/2 ) inches surface material by milling or saw cutting and excavating. - Compact area to provide stable subbase. - Place four (4) inches compacted Superpave 25 mm WMA. - Place one and a half (1 1/2 ) inches Superpave 9.5 mm WMA Pavement Repairs to Borough Streets. Bids must be made on the forms furnished within portal. Each Bid shall be submitted in accordance with the Instructions to Bidders and the Instructions for Submitting Electronic Bids set forth in the Bid Packet, including, but not limited to, a Bid Bond (issued by a surety licensed to conduct business in Pennsylvania), Bank Money Order, or Certified Check for not less than ten percent (10%) of the Bid amount payable to PB; an Agreement of Surety certifying that the required Performance, Payment, and Maintenance Bonds will be provided by the Successful Bidder to PB upon the awarding of the Bid; and proof of insurance as required by the Contract Documents.The Successful Bidder will be required to furnish Performance and Payment Bonds in the amount of 100% of the Contract Price PB reserves the right to reject any or all bids for any cause whatsoever, to eliminate any item or items from the contract, to waive any informality or irregularity in the bids, and exercise its judgement as to the comparative merit of the products and services offered. Award of the Contract, if awarded, will be to the lowest responsible and responsive bidder. Bids may be held by PB for a period not to exceed sixty (60) days from the date of the opening for the purpose of reviewing the bids and investigating the qualifications of bidders, prior to awarding of the Contract.
