Site work for a sidewalk / parking lot in Bethel, Vermont. Completed plans call for site work for a sidewalk / parking lot.
RFP for masonry work on stonewall on Main Street in front of our municipal parking lot. The existing wall is approximately 275' long. It appears to be a stone veneer, with the stones appearing to be loosely stacked, but truly anchored with mortar to the concrete wall. The cement is crumbling and the stones do not appear to have been connected using metal lath or brick ties. The Town of Bethel is seeking to repair the wall and we are prepared to do so in stages, per guidance of the bidder. Our first priority is repairing the four end of wall columns and stair walls, by totaling removing the existing stone veneer, acid washing the columns, attaching brick ties to concrete and replacing the veneer. An additive will need to be added to the masonry cement for increased strength. The stair treads also need to be appropriately repaired. Our second priority is repairing the retaining walls. Depending on pricing, we may be able to complete both priorities in 2022. The successful bidder needs to provide a 1099 and a valid proof of insurance prior to the work beginning Please submit a detailed plan including: Narrative on your evaluation of the existing wall, Your plan on how to best repair it, and Pricing per priority by square foot and by the hour.
