Site work and paving for a sidewalk / parking lot in Milton, Vermont. Completed plans call for site work for a sidewalk / parking lot; and for paving for a sidewalk / parking lot.

The project consists of the installation of approximately 570 feet of sidewalk beginning in the front of the Milton Fire/Rescue Building, along Bombardier Road to the intersection with Middle Road. The Town of Milton Highway Department will complete all subgrade work in preparation for the concrete work, including excavation and the installation of sub base. The contractor will be responsible for the installation of approximately 570 feet of concrete sidewalk, including ADA detectable warning strips on both sides of the Milton Fire/Rescue Building driveway, and at the Bombardier/Middle Road intersection. The sidewalk will intersect with an existing sidewalk path parallel to Middle Road. The concrete used shall be 3500 psi concrete, and a minimum of two concrete cylinder tests must be completed, and coordinated by the contractor. All work shall be compliant with the Town of Milton DPW Specifications. Details for sidewalks can be found in Drawing 12 of the DPW Specifications, which are available on the Town of Milton DPW website. All work shall be coordinated with the Highway Superintendent, Eric Gallas. Any non-hazardous removed material can be disposed of at the Towns storage site on Landfill Rd. Milton DPW will direct the contractor on where to dispose of any material, if necessary. The Town of Milton is requesting bids from qualified contractors for the construction of a sidewalk along Bombardier Road connecting the existing sidewalk near the Milton Fire/Rescue Building to the intersection with Middle Road. The current sidewalk on the south side of Bombardier Road terminates at the Milton Fire/Rescue Building. The proposed project will add approximately 570 feet of sidewalk, extending it to Middle Road. This sidewalk will connect residences to resources such as local businesses and the Town Municipal Offices, including the town library. This project will be managed by Kirsten Jensen, Town of Milton Public Works Engineer.
