Site work, paving and outdoor lighting for a mixed-use development in Mattoon, Illinois. Completed plans call for site work for a sidewalk / parking lot; for outdoor lighting for a sidewalk / parking lot; for paving for a sidewalk / parking lot; and water / sewer project.

The scope of work consists of removing the existing oil and chip parking lot and the sidewalk next to the parking lot. The parking lot will be replaced /expanded with either base bid of HMA pavement or PCC pavement. New sidewalk will be placed along the west side of the parking lot and south of the parking lot for the sports arena. New PCC vehicle entrance to the sports arena will be placed on the east side of the parking lot. Various items that are included in this project are earth excavation, subgrade preparation, aggregate base, PCC paving, HMA paving, curb & gutter, storm sewer, chainlink fence, striping, seeding, landscaping, site lighting, and other appurtenances. Prevailing wages in accordance with Coles County is required. Bid security is required, in the form of a bid bond or certified check in an amount equal to ten percent (10%) of the base bid as guarantee that the bid will not be withdrawn within 30 days after the date of opening of bids, and that the successful bidder will enter into a Contract for the work awarded them. Bid security shall be made payable to Mattoon Community Unit School District #2. Bonds are required: Both a Performance Bond or a Labor & Material Payment Bond is required for this project, each in an amount equal to 100% of the contract price. Your Bid will be required to be submitted under a condition of irrevocability for a period of 30 days after submission. The Owner reserves the right to accept or reject any or all Bids or any part thereof, to waive any informality in bidding, and to accept bids deemed most favorable to the Owner. Award of a contract is anticipated to occur at the April, 2022 meeting of the Board of Education. Begin construction on May 2, 2022. The Work shall be Substantially Complete on or before July 29, 2022.
