The scope of work of the engineering assignments will be prepared by the contract manager or their designate on a task order basis. It will specify the engineering expertise required to perform assignments related to water management infrastructure and operations. Proponents will be selected based on their experience and capacity to provide engineering and professional services within some or all of the following engineering disciplines: Civil/Geotechnical: i.e. geotechnical investigation, analysis, design and construction oversight of earthen embankments, dams, canals, berms, canal banks and dykes, seepage collection and drainage systems, drainage channels, roads, culvert crossings, spillways, low-level outlets, tunnels, etc., geotechnical instrumentation analysis, assessment and evaluation for various manual and automated instrumentation including but not limited to piezometers, inclinometers, extensometers, pressure relief systems, seepage measurement weirs, drains, etc., geotechnical modelling, etc. Structural: i.e. inspection, assessment, and design of concrete, steel and timber structural design related to spillways, drop structures, check structures, siphons, low-level outlets, concrete testing and repair, buildings, bridges, structural steel platforms, catwalks, etc. Hydrotechnical: i.e. hydraulic engineering and fluid dynamics in open channel and closed systems, surface and subsurface hydrology, water resources modeling, development of rating curves, flood routing, etc. Mechanical: i.e. hydraulic gates (slide, overshot, radial, sluice), hoists, actuators, cranes, piping systems, pump stations, etc. Electrical: i.e. distribution systems, MCCs, SCADA systems, underground services, electric generators, PLC systems etc. Surveying i.e. legal land survey, topographic survey, bathymetric and hydrographic survey, UAV drone survey etc. Professional services i.e. technical document development, review and presentation, public safety plans, assets inventory, operation maintenance & surveillance (OM&S) manual preparation, GIS mapping, CAD drawings, detailed engineering inspections etc. Based on the assignment scope of work, the consultant shall provide the following services: 1. Review the assginment scope of work document provided by the contract manager or their designate describing a work-order or a deficiency or an issue and required outcomes. 2. Identify and collect additional information related to the assignment as required. 3. Perform any required field investigations and inspections or as directed by the contract manager. 4. Perform engineering analysis, computations and evaluations as required. 5. Develop options for solutions and review with the contract manager. 6. Prepare a stamped memorandum style report with recommendations and cost estimates. 7. As required, provide construction management and inspection services and construction completion report. 8. Submit detailed invoicing monthly, including a breakdown of labor, equipment and material costs, copies of OH&S tail gate meetings and field level hazard assessments completed during the billing period or a signed statement indicating there were no OH&S incidents that occurred during the billing period.Depending on the complexity of the work and timing constraints identified by the contract manager, the successful Proponent will likely undertake 2 to 5 assignments per year for 3 years.
