The Project includes the following Work: Lead abatement, preparation and painting the inside and outside of the tank, fabrication and welding. Bids will be received for a single prime Contract. Bids shall be on a lump sum and unit price basis. Bid security shall be furnished in accordance with the Instructions to Bidders All questions and technical inquiries must be submitted in writing to the Owner's primary contact, Scott Agner (email scott.agner@westernvawater.org). Bidders are referred to the Code of Virginia 54.1-1100 et seq. for contractor requirements. Bidders shall provide evidence of authorization to transact business in the Commonwealth of Virginia by providing the identification number issued to Bidder by the State Corporation Commission in accordance with the Code of Virginia 2.2-4311.2, Title 13.1, Title 50, or as otherwise required by law. The Authority does not discriminate against a bidder or offeror because of race, religion, color, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, age, disability, status as a service disabled veteran, or any other basis prohibited by state law relating to discrimination in employment. The Authority does not discriminate against faithbased organizations in accordance with the Code of Virginia 2.2-4343.1. A Bid may be withdrawn in accordance with the Code of Virginia 2.2-4330 by giving notice in writing of Bidder's claim of right to withdraw Bid within two business days after the conclusion of the bid opening procedure and submitting original work papers with such notice. A Bid must be accompanied by Bid security made payable to Owner in an amount of 10 percent of Bidder's maximum Bid price (determined by adding the base bid and all alternates) and in the form of a Bid bond issued by a surety meeting the requirements of Paragraph 6.01 of the General Conditions. Such Bid bond will be issued in the form included in the Bidding Documents.
