The project work will include safeguarding thirty seven (37) features including thirteen (13) adits and twenty four (24) shafts/stopes in mountainous terrain using backfill, corrugated steel pipe, polyurethane foam, grates, Adit doors, and fence. The work is on private property, and land managed by the united states forest service. Sediment control is required for all machine backfilled closures as directed by the project manager. Several of the features are in areas that were burned in 2020 during the cal-wood wildfire. These areas may contain unstable trees and sediment that may be prone to heavy erosion and high-volume runoff following rain events. Downed trees may need to be cleared from some access routes.
