The Department of Water Resources (DWR), Division of State Water Project (SWP) Power and Risk Office (PARO), invites qualified firms with extensive background in utility power engineering service, including the preparation of strategic hydropower studies, transmission systems analysis, SWP reports, engineering economics and financial modeling, evaluation of SWP systems configurations, policy advice, and power contracts to submit a Statement of Qualifications (SOQ). The Contractor will provide expert technical advice and consultation for operational modeling of the SWP water and power systems; analysis of electrical loads and resources; evaluation of existing and alternative operation strategies, storage operations, and potential modifications to conveyance and storage configurations and/or capacities; evaluation of new hydropower and renewables developments; analysis of SWP electrical transmission systems and interconnections; and the development of methodologies to value proposals for acquisition of strategic physical power generation assets; structural engineering services for the repair, retrofit, and design of new hydraulic structures and appurtenances.
