As of August 1,2022, This project has been awarded to Priestly Demolition Inc, with the awarded amount of $343,929.88 The Riverbend Recreation Area in Red Deer is a popular attraction with a range of activities from golf in the summer to cross-country skiing in the winter. Recently, through bridge inspections, the City discovered a pair of culverts in Riverbend that were in poor condition and needed to be replaced. These culverts carry a narrow gravel roadway over an unnamed tributary to the Red Deer River. The gravel roadway provides access to a boat launch on the Red Deer River, a picnic area, and golf courses maintenance yards. In the summer the roadway also acts as a pedestrian trail and in the winter a designated ski trail. This project will replace the culverts with a new single concrete box culvert with a design life of 75 years to maintain access and the intended use of this area. The work shall consist of removal and disposal of existing twin culverts and the construction of a 1.5 m (rise) x 3.0 m (span) x 18.5 m (length) Pre-cast Concrete Box Culvert carrying the Riverbend boat launch access road over an Unnamed Tributary to the Red Deer River, including but not limited to: Mobilization and Demobilization Traffic Accommodation Environmental Management and Care of Water Demolition and Disposal of Existing CMP Twin Culverts Structural Excavation Channel Excavation Supply and Assembly of a Precast Concrete Box Culvert Application of Concrete Sealer Structural Backfill Placement of Heavy Rock Riprap Erosion and Sediment Control Road re-construction and grading Reclamation Landscaping Supply and Installation of wooden pedestrian rail Documents can be obtained from https://reddeer.bidsandtenders.ca/
