The City of Marco Island Water and Sewer Department is soliciting bids from licensed qualified water well contractors to perform rehabilitation services at two of the City's water supply wells providing raw water to the Reverse Osmosis South Water Treatment Plant (SWTP). The two wells to be rehabilitated, designated RO-13 and RO-16, have been identified for acidification treatment via application of dilute hydrochloric acid. The contracted work will include pump removal, baseline well performance testing, well acidification, well development, post-treatment testing, pump installation, well disinfection, and well start up services. The City is soliciting bids from contractors to apply acid solution to the wells over a period of two days as specified in the technical specifications attached. Oversight of the project will be performed by the City's hydrogeology consultant who will supervise all testing and treatment aspects of the work. The wells are located on Covewood Ct. and S. Sunset St., in Marco Island. The Contractor is responsible for obtaining required permits.
