This project provides for the furnishing of all labor, material, equipment and work necessary to erect a tolling facility, including gantry structure, concrete utility building, complete and operable, and asphalt pavement. Work items include, but are not limited to: 1,728 CY Excavation, Various Classes (Including Over-excavation) 644 CY Structure Backfill 375 TON Subbase (No. 2A) 1,241 TON Superpave Asphalt Materials (Base, Binder & Wearing Courses) 500 LF Guide Rail, Type 31-S 3,012 LF Temporary Concrete Barrier 272 CY Cement Concrete, Various Classes (Including Cast In Place and Precast) 49,819 LB Fabricated Structural Steel, Various Grades 29,700 LB Reinforcement Bars, Epoxy Coated 3 LF Drilled Shafts in Soil 17 LF Drilled Shafts in Rock Milepost A-87.10 is located approximately 0.10 miles north of the SR 903 Interchange, Exit 87, in Carbon County, Pennsylvania and Milepost A-123.51 is located approximately 1.51 miles north of the Keyser Avenue Interchange, Exit 122, in Lackawanna County, Pennsylvania. An electronic bid bond, from an approved vendor, with corporate surety, in the amount of five (5%) percent of the bid must be submitted with the proposal as bid security. The bid security of the three (3) low bidders will be retained until the execution of the contract. (The normal time for execution of the contract is approximately four [4] weeks.) A Prequalification Certification and Applicable Capacity Rating assigned by the Prequalification Office of the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation is a necessary prerequisite for bidding on this project. The opening and listing of bids not meeting all the terms and conditions of the bid advertisement or bid procedures does not act as a waiver or modification of any requirements contained in the bid advertisement or bid procedure. The Provisions of the Pennsylvania Prevailing Wage Act of August 15, 1961, P.L. 987, as amended, together with the rates and regulations promulgated by the Secretary of Labor and Industry applicable thereto, shall apply to this contract.
