Project Locations: 1. This project area is on Christian Hill Road between 2546 and 2920 Christian Hill Road. The Town of Bethel is accepting proposals from contractors to reshape and stone line the ditches, remove trees and crown road to sheet off to ditch. See attached map for detailed information. Contractors shall furnish all materials, labor and equipment necessary and to dispose of the debris/material in these segments in accordance with the State of Vermont act 64 Municipal General Road Permit standards. They will also be responsible for traffic control (if necessary) and adhering to all MUTCD Standards. The Town of Bethel will allow the contractor to close a portion of the road for reasonable periods of time, if it is necessary. Proposals shall, at a minimum, accomplish the following Minimum Scope of Work: Ditching: 1. Ditch will be excavated deep enough to drain the road base and handle an expected runoff depth of 1.5' -- 2' deep. 2. Ditch bank side slopes should be a maximum 2:1 horizontal to vertical ratio. 3. Ditch should be at least 2' wide forming a slightly rounded (parabolic) shape to help slow and disperse water. 4. Stone line the ditch into a vegetated area whenever possible. 5. Ditch stone shall be a minimum of 7" erosion stone. 6. Temporary exposed ditch soils shall be covered with matting to reduce erosion during rain events. 7. Contractor will complete the job with seed and mulch or hydroseeding any remaining exposed disturbed soils. The chosen Contractor will work under the direction of the Road Foreman. Invoicing shall be for work satisfactorily completed and paid as one lump sum. The chosen Contractor shall warranty materials and workmanship for a period of one (1) year from the date of completion. The Contractor or their subcontractor shall complete all remedial/warranty work at no additional cost to the Town within 60 days of any such order to repair.
