The Confederated Tribes of the Colville Reservation (CTCR) Anadromous Fisheries Division is seeking proposals from construction companies capable of completing habitat restoration project at - RM 1.0 on Salmon Creek as designed (see attachment). The project, once awarded, is expected to be completed within three weeks. The Colville Confederated Tribes Anadromous Fisheries Division in a continued effort to rehabilitate habitat to benefit native salmonids has financed a survey, flow model outputs which were the basis of the design to construct up to 5 spawning ridges within a selected reach of the Okanogan River. The proposed design has been agreed upon by the City of Okanogan (landowner). The purpose of this project is to augment spawning habitat for summer Chinook salmon and increase public awareness of salmon in the Okanogan River. The number of spawning structures constructed will be determined based upon cost. The spine of each structure will be constructed using 12 to 18 diameter angular rock placed linearly, perpendicular to the flow, to a distance of 20 to 50 ft. The upstream side as well as the downstream side of the spine will be covered with round rock with diameter from 4.7 to 0.75. This will be placed over the spine to a minimum depth of 24. The Tribes reserves the right to reject any or all proposals, to waive any minor informalities or irregularities contained in any proposal, and to accept any proposal deemed to be in the best interest of the Tribes.
