The Wahkiakum County Public Works solicits interest from consulting firms with expertise in Civil and Structural Engineering Design. This agreement will be for approximately two years in duration with the option for the Wahkiakum County Public Works to extend it for additional time and money if necessary. Consultants will be considered for the following project. The Wahkiakum County Public Works reserves the right to amend terms of this "Request for Qualifications" (RFQ) to circulate various addenda, or to withdraw the RFQ at any time, regardless of how much time and effort consultants have spent on their responses. Project Description The work to be performed by the CONSULTANT consists of preparing engineering design for repairs to the Wilson Creek Bridge on East Valley Road. The proposed improvements include removing the existing bridge rail and deck, wrapping the bridge columns, and replacing the deck and bridge rail to existing standards and improving the approaches to the bridge. It also may include designing a temporary by-pass or a plan to construct the improvements under traffic. This project has a 16% DBE goal. The major features of the project are as follows: o bridge superstructure design o plans for wrapping existing bridge columns o Environmental documentation and preparation of permit applications o traffic control plan or bypass route design o 400 feet of road reconstruction for approaches to the bridge. o Bridge Structural Certification to meet WSDOT/FHWA standards. The Wahkiakum County Public Works reserves the right to retain the services of the successful firm(s) for any subsequent phases (R/W, CN) associated with this/these project(s).
