As of November 18, 2022, the project is in the process of being awarded to Talley Sign Co. in Richmond, VA. Sealed bids are invited for the construction of Implement VWCC Exterior Signage - LED Marquee & Internally Lit Signs at Virginia Western Community College, Project Code # 260-B2260-052 located in Roanoke, Virginia. The project is generally described as the LED and internally lit sign package (package #3) of the recently developed and adopted VWCC Exterior Signage Design Standards. There will be two LED marquee signs at either end of campus along Colonial Avenue. One LED sign is located at the East side of campus at the College Services Building and the other is located at the West side in front of the tennis courts. The digital LEDs are programmable, and the display size is approximately 9'x7' which will allow the College to share information with current students as well as stream creative graphic content. There is also one static, internally lit sign, approximately 28'x11', mounted onto the exterior wall of the gym (Humanities Building) overlooking Highway 220 for the campus to be identified to passing motorists. A Standard Commonwealth Bid Bond is required (form CO-10.2) and Contract Security is required for any bid regardless of bid amount.
